Richard Hutchinson

Co-Owner / CEO

Richard grew up with parents who always had at least one renovating project on the go. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lincoln University, and has worked in the banking and construction finance industry for a number of years. This was where he gained vital financial and project management experience before leaving the corporate world to exercise his entrepreneurial spirit and create The Relocatable House Co. alongside his business partner and mum, Chrissey and wife Claire. Richard loves to see people achieving the ultimate Kiwi dream of owning their own home.

Claire Hutchinson

Co-Owner / Marketing & Office Project Manager

Claire comes from a varied work background – being a Registered Nurse by trade and later completing a post graduate diploma in Marketing from Waikato University. She was fortunate enough to cut her marketing teeth at the iconic NZ juice company Charlie’s where she learned a lot about Marketing outside the square! Claire project manages various marketing projects and loves to help people get started with their house relocation project by pointing them in the right direction. Outside of the office, Claire is a Mum to daughter Honor and writes children’s books about her crazy, beloved dog Brown Bear.

Sonja Firby

Finance Manager

Sonja is our fierce financial manager for the Hutchinson group. Originally from Germany, her and her husband now reside in the sunny Bay of plenty. Sonja’s husband is a boat builder by trade and they have spent many days sailing on the ocean. Sonja has a passion for breeding border terriers and is mother to little Tweed her most beloved terrier. Sonja’s other passion is numbers and keeping a tight reign on the spending habits of her colleagues.

Monique King

Marketing Coordinator

With a background in the Food Industry, Monique didn’t expect to be marketing relocatable houses! She was however drawn to the company values of helping promote better family environments, communities, and futures. With a Double Degree in Marketing & Consumer Food Science from Otago University, she now manages our Marketing Activity helping to promote the business and its values across NZ. A busy Mum of 3, Monique moved to the sunny Bay of Plenty in 2018 and enjoys spending time at the beach, playing a bit of netball and cooking up a storm.

Isaac Eustace-Smith

Group Legal Counsel and Special Projects

Isaac is our Legal Counsel for the Hutchinson Group. With a background in the charity sector, Isaac has a passion for socio-economic development and sustainable environmental practice. Isaac has a Bachelor of Laws degree and B.A degree from the University of Auckland, double majoring in Politics & International Relations and Criminology.
Admitted to the bar in 2018, Isaac enjoys volunteering with the Community Law Centre. Isaac is the Secretary and Co-founder of The Civics Education Trust of New Zealand, aimed at increasing public knowledge and interest in civic life, increasing democratic discourse. Isaac comes from a diverse background and has a keen interest in finding novel solutions to the housing and environmental challenges we as a society face.

Sajith Sheriff

Quantity Surveyor

With an interest in Construction, Sajith has a Bachelor in Civil Engineering with a graduate diploma in Project Management. He has over 3.5yrs experience in various construction and PM roles, including time as a hammer hand to gain first hand experience across building sites! Outside of work, Sajith loves his sports, including Cricket, Badminton and Javelin.

Myles Pomfret

Sales Consultant

Myles has over 9 years sales experience from around the world. Originally from the UK, he began his tertiary studies in Dunedin and completed his degree in Barcelona, Spain where he settled for a while and learnt the lingo. With a passion for property he came back to NZ and began with us in 2018. Working on his own personal project of relocating a 1920’s bungalow from Auckland up to Kerikeri has given him a real insight into everything required to get a project done! Myles loves seeing the transformation of pre-loved homes, the before and after photos from clients are always a highlight. Having sold over 26 houses in 2019 and with each project being different, he is always ready to take on the next challenge and find the right house for you.

Sandra Smith

Sales Consultant

Sandra has a varied professional background. With a Degree in Visual Communication Design she spent most of her adult life in Auckland where she owned a Graphic Design firm. Here she developed a passion for property, investing in an old run down 1920’s Bungalow. The project included renovation, subdividing & building new. From that point, she was hooked! This experience allows her to understand a customer’s needs, encompassing the whole picture – budgets, deadlines and the warm fussy stuff. Sandra’s motto, ‘within every obstacle lies an opportunity’. She loves a challenge and enjoys working with customers to find creative solutions. With Sandra on your team, you can’t help but manifest your dream into reality. When not found working… because she’s a bit of a workaholic, you will find her pursuing creative interests.

Steph Dowling

Sales Hub Team Leader & Sales Team Administrator

Steph is our sales admin superstar and Sales Hub Team leader. She knows all our processes inside and out, knows which houses are about to come on the market and keeps our sales consultants in line. With 6 years as Vet nurse and 2 years in recruitment she is a true people person, caring for those around her. Working at The Relocatable House Co. fulfills her desire to make this world a better place for future generations. She has a very active 2 year old that keeps her on her toes. Growing up in Whangamata and now living in the Bay of Plenty, she loves giving back to her community.

Carol Phillips

Sales hub

Carol was born and raised in Brazil, where she met her kiwi husband Kerry while completing her degree in Business Communication. Her passion for working with people began when she started her own English as a second language (ESL) business and had the privilege to help many people learn a language that has always had a special place in her heart. Two kids and ten years later, she moved to New Zealand & became a proud citizen. Being a retail manager for years gave Carol the experience and knowledge to successfully deal with culturally diverse customers. Therefore, Carol is highly motivated to help our clients realise their property ambitions. Brown Bear Hutchinson

CHO (Chief Happiness Officer)

Brown Bear the Dog is the beloved furry family member of Claire, Richard and Honor Hutchinson.He enjoys walks on the beach, eating bones, chasing rabbits and playing golf! There is never a dull moment in Brown Bear’s world where he is the star of his own children’s book – ‘An Adventure with Brown Bear the Dog.’ Everyone in the office is Brown Bear’s best friend when lunchtime rolls around, and after all the lunchtime excitement he can be found snoozing under a desk dreaming of the beach, chasing rabbits and playing golf. If you are ever in the office it is certain you will be met with a bit of fan-fare from Brown Bear! Let’s just say you’ll be subjected to a ‘lab test’! Boom! #dadjokes
